- Surftree™ Tour. This is a demonstration of the features available in Surftree. It uses a parameters.csv file for global style parameters and shows the capabilities to specify different fonts. This demo uses frames and has 194 nodes on 6 levels of hierarchy. There are two versions of this demo:
Surftree™ 1.1 for Java 1.0+ (33KB Surftree™ + 12KB of tree data).
Surftree™ 1.1 for Java 1.1+ (23KB Surftree™ + 12KB of tree data).
- Ski Industry Directory. In this demo, you can find and view websites in the ski industry by clicking on tree nodes. This demo uses a simple implementation of Surftree™: 49 nodes (18 websites), 3 levels of hierarchy, default node icons, and a web page without frames. Ski industry websites appear in popup windows. There are two versions of this demo:
Surftree™ 1.1 for Java 1.0+ (33KB Surftree™ + 2KB of tree data).
Surftree™ 1.1 for Java 1.1+ (23KB Surftree™ + 2KB of tree data).
- Photo Album. This demo shows Surftree™ in a frame-based application. By clicking on a tree node, three photos are simultaneously displayed in three separate frames while a fourth frame provides the relevant caption. This demo currently contains 73 photos of Antarctica, but can easily be expanded to thousands of photos in the future. There are two versions of this demo. The Java 1.1+ version is without advertising (reducing the Surftree file to 21KB) and uses a compressed tree data file:

Surftree™ 1.1 for Java 1.1+ (21KB Surftree™ [ no ads ] + 6KB of tree data).
- Worldwide Plastics Industry Directory. This directory lists over 3,600 companies in the plastics industry. It is available in one version:
Surftree™ 1.1 for Java 1.1+ (21KB Surftree™ [ no ads ] + 67KB zip data).
- 65,534 Node Tree. This demo shows a Surftree™ 1.1 at its maximum size. Every day from 1 January 1900 to 12 March 2072 is a node. By clicking on a particular date, you can find out what day of the week this is. There are two versions of this demo. Note that the uncompressed tree data is only 20 bytes/node and the compressed tree data (available with the Java 1.1 version) is an amazing 4 bytes/node:
